As well as resoling and rebuilding your telemark and backcountry ski boots, Gold Star Shoe Rebuilders Ltd. can add new EXTREME midsole material to reinforce your boots.

The new midsoles are stitched to the boot upper with wax- impregnated nylon thread for durability while the hot wax seals each needle hole for water repellancy. The surfaces of the soles and mid-soles are then coated with cement. Both glue faces are quickly heated, then pressed together under high pressure for a factory-tight and lasting bond. Outside edges of the soles are ground to the correct dimensions, taking into account the size of the boot and the type of ski binding.

Old soles are removed by heating them until the original glue releases. As with resoling other boots, heat-activated polyurethane adhesives, along with pressure, are used for cementing the new sole to its plastic upper.
